Cylinder blocks are one of the first materials used in Montessori environments for the child's sensory development. Cylinder blocks teach them about 2 & 3 dimensions which helps them to comprehend how items vary in size. The entire set consists of 40 cylinders and 4 wooden blocks. Each block and cylinder in our set is finished very precisely and accurately in natural beech wood and coated with water-based non-toxic transparent paints. The cylinders' height and diameter range accurately from 10 mm to 55 mm. To make them easier to hold securely, each block has a rectangular prism with concave faces. There are 10 cylinders that fit into 10 sockets on each block. The knobs are also made in-house with wood and have the shape of a pencil grip. As the knobs provided on the cylinders develop the pincer grip in the child this Montessori material also helps prepare for writing. It develops the child’s skills to hold the pencil. It is also a preparation for mathematics. This classic Montessori material is a must-have for all Montessori environments and preschools.

Block 1 – The cylinders vary along 2 dimensions where the diameter changes from 5.5 cm to 1 cm and the height remains constant at 5.5 cm

Block 2 – The cylinders vary along 3 dimensions where the diameter increases from 1 cm to 5.5 cm and correspondingly the height too varies from 1 cm to 5.5 cm.

Block 3 – The cylinders vary in 3 dimensions where the diameter decreases from 5.5 cm to 1 cm and the corresponding height increases from 1 cm to 5.5 cm.

Block 4 – The cylinders vary along 2 dimensions where the diameter is constant at 2.5 cm and the height varies from 1 cm to 5.5. cm
